Hunting Lodges Know How To Choose The Best Hunting Lodge For Hunts

By Brooke Atkins

If you have been dreaming about going on a special hunting trip, consider using the services of professional hunting lodges. Hunting lodges, like hotels, have various levels of service and accommodations. All kinds of hunts are conduced from hunting lodges, including duck, deer, elk, turkey, hog, antelope, bear, lion, caribou, pheasant and much more.

Premier Hunting Lodges: Premier Hunting Lodges offer the finest in accommodations, delicious meals, staff services and of course, hunting. Premier Hunting Lodges might have a choice of both high fence and free range hunting. They would be glad to customize a hunting package for you or your group, depending on the type of services required. Premier Hunting lodges are used quite often by corporations and sales companies as a reward for a job well done. Guests at Premier Hunting Lodges would have a choice of fully guided or self guided hunting. Many of our Premier Hunting Lodges also offer fishing services. You can expect high speed internet, cell phone service (or at least phone service), Cable or Satellite TV and other creature comforts. Prices vary widely from one lodge to the next, but generally, you get what you pay for.

Remote Hunting Lodges: Often times, remote hunting lodges, such as those found in Canada and Alaska or Wyoming, are accessible only by plane. They may have a large hunting lodge that accommodates all the guests, or perhaps small private cabins. Remote Hunting Lodges may not have cell service, internet service or cable TV, but you will probably not miss these things while you are enjoying the breathtaking beauty of the surroundings. Remote Hunting Lodges are popular for big game hunts because wildlife abounds and there are usually other things to do while not hunting. Fishing, snowmobiling, hiking, boating are other activities you will likely be able to enjoy.

Bunk-House Hunting Lodges: Many hunting lodges fall into this category, some are better, some far worse. The accommodations are usually comfortable, but no-frills. Bedrooms may sleep 2-4 hunters each and you may be sharing a bathroom, too. Usually they have a large entertainment room with TV, Game Tables, Dining Hall, and almost always, a very comfortable front porch with a great view of the country. Fishing may be available. Hunting may be semi-guided or self-guided. Prices, again, may vary significantly from one hunting lodge to the next, but bunk-house hunting lodges may be exactly what you are looking for if you are on a strict budget – or just want to hang out with some hunting buddies.

To insure you have a wonderful stay at your chosen hunting lodge, be sure to get all your questions answered as to what kind of accommodations, meals, hunting services, and transportation you will be provided. If you know exactly what to expect, you will be able to relax and enjoy your hunt once you arrive.

As to what kind of accommodations you should expect from various types of hunting lodges, that is something you must work out BEFORE the hunt is scheduled. See our Plan a Hunting Trip page for some helpful advise!
