Bottle packaging is a very important part of the industry and industrialists are well aware of that. Any product that is to be sold and distributed in bottles must be packaged very carefully keeping in mind not only the fragility of the bottles but also the economics and the attractiveness of the packaging.

Bottle packaging is extremely important when it comes to shipping off bottles containing some goods. The bottles may contain acids, perfumes, breweries, medicines and many other kinds of liquids. For each kind of content, the bottles are different and so are the packaging materials for the bottles. The bottles may be perishable and so they need to be preserved properly, especially if they contain very costly or potentially hazardous material. That is why there are different industrial standards for packaging for different kinds of bottles.

How the bottles are going to be shipped will decide the material of the bottle. The bottles may be shipped via train, road or by air. For example, bubble wraps are used as bottle packaging for bottles being shipped in trucks. But apart from the security and safety requirements, there are also considerations like technical specifications (often as requested by customers), worker safety, serviceability, packaging line integration, floor space, capital cost, floor space, ergonomics etc.

The process for bottle packaging mainly depends on the kind of packaging that is required. For example, the bottles may be capped, over-capped, lidded, sealed, closed, seamed or sealed. Accordingly, there will be different machines like sealing and seaming machines for the respective purposes. But overall, there will always be a conveyer belt driven by a motor (or multiple motors) which will constitute the assembly line. The exact kind of bottle packaging will require other machines e.g. for stickers, there may be rotary sticker machines.

These machines are usually all automatic or semi-automatic. They are also called CNC or computer-numerically controlled machines. Machines for packing and unpacking, printing, stamping, weight checking, filling and labeling may be used for bottle packaging. Boxes and pallets are often used for packing bottles. So palletizing and depalletizing machines are also used. Plastic blister packs are also used and hence vacuum packaging machines may be used. There are multi-purpose bottling and packaging machines also, while still others are for automatic shrink wrapping, bottle cap screening and water bottling.

There are other elements like protection, wrapping and film, sealing and taping etc. Equipments like shredding machines, rolling dispenser stands and benches are also used. Polythene tubing is commonly used as well. Besides this, different kinds of designs are also very commonly used for bottle packaging. These designs can be instrumental in attracting customers due to their alluring and appealing retro/vintage and modern and beautiful styles. Some other packaging essentials are stretch film, corrugated packing, cardboard, foam, staplers, glue etc.
